"Homer" for the holidays
Doh! We recently received Homer from a local Shelter. This 2yr old boy is a full of life little guy! At only 35lbs, he is a lot of golden. He was adopted out from the shelter but the person brought him back, as he was too much for her. When he arrived, he would just run and jump on you full force and for a little guy it was still like a rocket hitting a wall.
Meet Mona, a very sweet and quiet English Cream girl. She came from a shelter so we have no history on her. She was quite thin when she first arrived. She has a toe missing on her left front foot. Someone had taken care of things, as there were still a couple of stitches in the foot. The foot looks good and does not slow her down at all.
Read MoreIt has been a bit of a stressful month at CGRR. Our special needs boy Shiloh had a seizure last month and another seizure the first week of August. This seizure lasted just over three minutes and was quite violent. We took Shiloh to the ER and while the doctor was examining him, he had another seizure, so they kept him overnight. They started him on a pretty hefty dose of Keppra and phenobarbital. After meeting with the neurologist, the next week, it was decided to do another MRI on to see if there were any significant changes in his brain. They also did a CSF tap.

This is when the kidneys do not form normally at birth. In Blu's case, she has one very small kidney, and one large one. The larger kidney has been trying to do the work for the other one, and at this point, Blu has late stage 3 out of 4 kidney disease. She is now on a kidney diet, to try to delay progression.

He is sweet and loves to play. Bleu would do well with a dog savvy owner, who will get him out for regular exercise, and establish a good routine. He also needs a home with older or no children.
Read MoreBella is our latest non-Golden resident. She is a wonderful 5-year-old German Shorthair Pointer that came in with Daisy. We didn't want to take a chance that Bella would end up in a shelter, so we took them both. Bella is a fun dog who is very tolerant of crazy Daisy! This girl is fun to play with...she is great at catching balls mid-air. She likes to cuddle, and enjoys her dog bed.
Read MoreWe have had some pretty good luck lately finding foster homes. We really need to find a foster home for Casey, Our sweet old man. Casey is probably almost eleven years old and is just looking for a place to hang his hat. He is such a quiet, polite old boy who just wants to hang with you.
