Homer

"Homer" for the holidays

Doh! We recently received Homer from a local Shelter. This 2yr old boy is a full of life little guy!  At only 35lbs, he is a lot of golden. He was adopted out from the shelter but the person brought him back, as he was too much for her.   When he arrived, he would just run and jump on you full force and for a little guy it was still like a rocket hitting a wall.

Steve has  been working with Homer and now he is getting better at greeting with all 4 paws on the ground and will sit and make  good eye contact, and then he gets petted. He would absolutely attack his food bowl almost knocking it out of your hands before you could get it down. Well, we had to improve that! He now sits waits for you to set it down, look into your eyes and waits for “OK” before he eats.  He is quick to learn, and we have so many more manners to train.

Homer self entertains....it is a hoot to watch him run about with toys, throwing them in the air,  or just exploring his environment he is fun to watch. With some dedication and more training, he will be a great companion.

Homer needs a dog savvy owner, willing to work with him. He has lots of energy and needs a home that will provide him with plenty of exercise. He is a power chewer, so needs someone who will keep an eye on him. We feel he may be too much for toddlers,  so a home with older or no children would be best.

This boy has a lot of potential.... are you the one to help bring out the best in him? If interested, please email us your application, thank you.
